Prince George of Russia

The Prince George of Russia perfumery brand was founded by Martin de Markoff (aka Martin de Botelho). The full name of the brand was "The Perfumes of His Highness Prince George Kostantinovich Romanov of Russia, Inc. of New York, New York. This was established for the former Russian prince, George Constantine.

The company was associated with Markoff's other brands Ballarde Inc and Alexandra de Markoff.

In business until 1946.

Ballarde, Inc

Ballarde, Inc of Paris and New York was established by Martin de Markoff; launched a range of fragrances between 1930 and 1945. The company was affiliated to the perfume company Prince George of Russia.

Alexandra de Markoff Perfumes

The inspiration for the creation of the Alexandra de Markoff Company was a wealthy and sophisticated Russian noble woman for whom the company is named. Established by Countess Alexandra de Markoff; a fashion house; affiliated to Prince George of Russia and Ballarde Inc; now part of Revlon.

This is not your average perfume blog. In each post, I present perfumes or companies as encyclopedic entries with as much facts and photos as I can add for easy reading and researching without all the extraneous fluff or puffery.

Please understand that this website is not affiliated with any of the perfume companies written about here, it is only a source of reference. I consider it a repository of vital information for collectors and those who have enjoyed the classic fragrances of days gone by. Updates to posts are conducted whenever I find new information to add or to correct any errors.

One of the goals of this website is to show the present owners of the various perfumes and cologne brands that are featured here how much we miss the discontinued classics and hopefully, if they see that there is enough interest and demand, they will bring back these fragrances!
